Residential interior Jakstai home

In the north east of Lithuania at Pakerių village, I worked together with owner Rolandas Jakštas to create a spacious and bright interior for a single family home.

The main objective of the design was to produce a pure, unified and practical experience. The zoning combines the daily activity spaces - kitchen, dining and living room - with the leisure of the garden via two access points to a terrace and garden respectively.

With a footprint of 228 m2 this house has a luxurious feel of space, and a panoramic view to the surrounding birch trees. This home is built for a family of four, including a living room, a kitchen/dining room, office, patio, three bedrooms, balcony and two bathrooms. The layout is developed meticulously in order to maximize the use of space and create a fluent flow of movement all around.

The design forms a strong and unified basis by keeping colours and materials light and simple.

It marries together white plastered walls, to white furniture with grey accents and supported by a grey-toned wooden floor. The outcome is a minimalist spacious home with an abundance of natural light.

Custom furniture and integrated cabinets accentuate the bright and airy quality on the inside.

The design of the integrated furniture paid special attention to utility and the individual needs of the residents. The kitchen design in particular aimed at maximizing storage space while leaving an unobstructed view out the window above the sink. A custom walk-in closet houses a luxurious amount of items considering the limited space and slanted roof.
