Teaching cyanotype

As a member of Makervercity in Amsterdam between 2017 and 2019, I had numerous opportunity to teach the techniques of cyanotype to curious fellow makers. During this period, I developed a series of workshops that train participants on working with the chemical compounds required to create the distinct blue colouring and shapes on various different surfaces and materials.

The workshop structure is divided in five distinct parts.

After initially teaching participants about the history of blueprint and its initial applications, we move on to the individual properties of the chemicals required for the cyanotype reaction, then study how they are mixed, then applied, and ultimately exposed to light in order to produce the final print.

The duration of a single workshop is usually 2 hours. If you are interested in organizing a workshop or receiving private instruction, do not hesitate to contact me.
